"TOPSoccer (The Outreach program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with special needs.The TOPSoccer program is designed and administered by US Youth Soccer and its volunteer TOPSoccer committee provides meaningful learning, development and physical participation opportunities to these young athletes through the game of soccer."
TOPsoccer was an idea brought to the town of Smithfield, RI by an amazing man with a passion for soccer and a dream for equal opportunity. TOPsoccer started in Smithfield in 2010 and has been growing and developing ever since. The program has switched hands and is currently run by Rhode Island College Student Athlete and Smithfield resident Stephanie Ricci. The program is not accreddited by the national TOPsoccer program, rather is locally managed and run. It is fully funded by Smithfield Youth Soccer Association and is greatful for all of their help. It is completely dependent on all of the amazing volunteers who travel from all over Rhode Island to participate. TOPsoccer promotes equal opportunity as well as a comfortable safe environment that encourages player education and growth.
